Dare to Consent is a game of escalating two-person dares that go as far as possible, but never too far!

What to Expect

• Two-person Dares: Take on challenges with another player, with each dare more daring than the last
• Escalating Dares: The first dares start simple, but become more daring until your group reaches their limit
• Never too far: Anyone can prevent dares that go to far
• Consent Cards: Before each dare, players privately share their willingness to participate, ensuring full consent

How the Game Flows

• Choose a theme: Will you do creative dares? Humiliating dares? Sensual dares? Food dares? There are 15 themes to choose from
• On your turn: Choose a dare from the menu, and collect consent cards from other players to see who might join you
• New Dares: Once someone completes the biggest dare, they choose the next dare, with each dare more daring than the last
• Who is the most daring?: First player to 20 points is the winner

This game is in play testing and is not yet for sale. To play this game, you will need to print out the assets. You will need the following:

• Custom game cards*. You should have:
  • 15 theme cards
  • 3 consent cards for each player
• A piece of paper and pencil for your group’s dare menu and to tally points

Backstory

This game was inspired by a conversation with my school-age children, in which they were telling me how they would improve various board games. I jokingly challenged them to improve spin-the-bottle, and they answered that they would improve it by banning it!

Upon reflection, I realized that there are a lot of things wrong with spin-the-bottle and similar games such as truth-or-dare. I wondered if it was possible to update these games to keep the excitement while losing the pressure. I challenged myself to make a dare game that values enthusiastic consent, and can be as tame or as exciting as the players want it to be. Dare to Consent is the result.
